2024 guide: What’s on for New Year’s Eve on the Sunshine Coast

From a hoe down to an epic water slide party, venues across the Sunshine Coast are prepping for a night of fun and celebrations to welcome the New Year.

Alongside community events with a fantastic fireworks show, venues across the Sunshine Coast have their calendars marked for their own New Year’s celebrations.

From fun dress codes and themes to live performances and entertainment for the children, there is a selection of events to pick from for Sunshine Coast party goers.

Fireworks at Mooloolaba

The free event will kick off from 5pm offering entertainment, face painting, food trucks and markets until 10pm.

The fireworks are scheduled for 8.30pm only.

Caloundra’s NYE 2024 Celebrations

Sunshine Coast Official Food Truck Association, Sunshine Coast Council and Downtown Caloundra Taskforce have collaborated to host New Year’s celebrations at the Kings Beach Amphitheatre.

Food trucks, rides and face painting for children as well as a movie under the stars are on the agenda.

The movie will start at 7.45pm and fireworks will kick off at 9.30pm.

The whole event will run from 4pm to 10pm

Fireworks in Noosa

Noosa Shire Council shared this year’s fireworks will light up at The Boathouse at 9pm and The Marina at 10pm to start welcoming the new year.

Terella Brewing

The North Arm venue is kicking off celebrations early in the day with a water slide party featuring three inflatable slides and all day access for $10.

The brewery will open from 10am until 6pm and the slides will be open from 11am until 4pm.

Food trucks and live music will also be available.

Kilkivan Bush Camping and Caravan Park

The camping ground is hosting live entertainment and activities for children on top of providing all-you-can-eat wood-fired pizza and bar.

Overnight stays are available, with tickets $60 for adults and $35 for children.

Boiling Pot Brewing Co

DJ Raw Ordio is performing a sunset session and a midnight set to ring in the new year at the Boiling Pot Brewing Co.

The event will be hosted at the venue’s car park under a large marquee from 5pm to 2am, with special guests Jamie Porteous, Andy V and John Veloso to appear.

In line with the hot summer weather, the party will sport a tropical beach theme.

Yandina Hotel

The Yandina Hotel is hosting its New Year’s Eve Eras Rock Party, with Sunshine Coast band VANDEEZ performing live from 8pm.

Prizes are up for grabs for those who dress as their favourite rock star.

Entry is free with the bistro open until 8.30pm.

Surfair Beach Hotel

The hotel is hosting their Hawaiian Luau New Year’s Eve Karaoke night, inviting guests to adorn their best Hawaiian outfits to take home some prizes.

The event promises luau treats, exotic cocktails and music.

The Tamarind

The Maleny venue promises live music, a welcome cocktail and a banquet for its New Year celebrations.

Pomona Distilling Co’s NYE Country Hoe Down

The event’s $149 package offers food and beverages with promises of live music performed by West Texas Crude and a mechanical bull.

Prizes for best-dressed are also up for grabs and a balloon drop is scheduled for midnight.

The event will run from 8pm to 1am.

La Casa Beach Bar

The venue promises views of the fireworks at Mooloolaba, with their three-hour package providing a welcome drink, canapes, live music and DJ tunes.

The celebrations kick off at 5.30pm.

The Rooftop Bar

The Rooftop Bar in Maroochydore is launching a sunset party to celebrate New Year’s Eve, “free-flowing” wine and beer, a spritzer on arrival, canapes and live music included in the $150 package.

The event will run between 5pm and 9pm.

Solbar

Solbar is encouraging patrons to wear their most outrageous, silly and theatrical accessories, with prizes awarded to the sexiest and most sinister finds.

Shag Rock, Buttermello, Nuffin Butta, DJ Total Eclipse will provide tunes throughout the night.

Beerwah Hotel

Beerwah Hotel will kick off their celebrations from 8.30pm with Escape Plann playing live on stage.

In addition to drinks, dining and dancing, there are also various prizes up for grabs throughout the night.

The Presynct in Nambour

The Presynct is throwing their “Nambour Night Fever: New Year’s Eve Disco Party” from 7pm until 2am.

Their 70s-inspired event will feature Melbourne band JAZZPARTY and sets from J Dispatch and DJ Sista C.

Prizes for best-dressed, a dance-off and a small group dance battle are also marked on the schedule.

The Savvy Squire

The Mooloolaba venue’s Pre-fireworks Party is offering a three-course meal accompanying live music from 5pm for $89.

Bli Bli Hotel, Parklands Tavern and Baringa Hotel

The Maeva Hospitality venues are each providing a family event, with a countdown disco ball and goodie bags for children from 7pm.

Children will be able to eat free from 5.30pm alongside any purchased adult main meal.

A special champagne offer is in store for adults to ring in the new year and prizes for best-dressed are up for grabs.

Coolum Beach Hotel

Coolum Beach Hotel has local resident Steve Miller performing live music between 3pm and 7pm, with DJ Shannon B playing tunes from 9pm into the new year.

Face painting for children will be available from 6pm to 8pm and fireworks from the foreshore at Coolum Beach will kick off at 8.30pm.

The dress code for the event is white or “neon glow”

Currimundi Hotel

The Currimundi Hotel is kicking off the night with family karaoke from 6pm and an early countdown at 8pm before adult patrons can karaoke in the sports bar from 9pm.

The hotel promises glow sticks, balloons and surprises throughout the night.

Buderim Tavern

With bistro dining available from 11.30am, the venue also offers entertainment, face painting and a glitter hair artist for children between 5 and 8pm.

Appolonian Hotel

The hotel at Boreen Point has a range of acts lined up from 5pm for its New Year celebrations

Caloundra RSL

The RSL has a line up of live music featuring Riley and Wild Child, with bar and dining specials available throughout the night.

Hourly draws are also being hosted between 6.30pm and 10.30pm.

Aussie World and the Banana Bender Pub

Aussie World is offering free entry to various activities alongside street performers, a food precinct, family fireworks and a free foam party for children.

In addition to dining opportunities, music and a dance floor, an add on ride pass will give guests access to rides all night long.

The Woombye Pub

The pub is offering family fun, games and festivities with entertainment from DJ Sparkles and The Cedriks and balloon twisting, face painting and a dance competition for children.

The event will host a balloon drop and countdown at 8.30pm.

O’Malleys Irish Bar

The Mooloolaba venue will be open from 10am to 3am, with 18+ entry only from 9pm onwards.

DJ hits will be blasting all night and the 8.30pm fireworks can be seen just outside the doors.

Golden Beach Tavern

The venue is hosting a “beach party” with cocktails, a best-dressed competition and tunes throughout the night.

Duporth Tavern

The Maroochydore venue is throwing an NYE White Party with an all white-dress code and DJ Jhonny spinning, starting from 9.30pm.
