Once you’ve downloaded the app, this is what you need to do to make the most of all its features:

1. Sign up for a full digital subscription at couriermail.com.au or log in here if you’re already a member.

2. Once you sign in you can start personalising the news you see in the app by selecting your location, topics and dedicated local journalists.

3. Enter your postcode to get the latest local news from local journalists working where you live. Wherever you are in Queensland we’ve got you covered from the Gold Coast to Cairns. Once you’ve punched in your postcode you can add even more locations.

4. Click on any of the Queensland locations you want news from our teams of local journalists.

5. You can also add Queensland and national news, lifestyle, business, world and sport news. There’s even options to follow your NRL or AFL teams as well as your local journalists.

6. Change the order that you see your topics by clicking on going to settings, clicking on the before dragging each topic to where you want it.

7. Now it’s time to set up notifications so you can receive the latest breaking news from your area.

8. You can go to the notifications settings and choose whether you want regular news briefings for major Queensland news. There are now options for regional app alerts, including for local breaking news and daily briefings as well as alerts for sport, entertainment, business, lifestyle and podcasts. You can change the settings at any time.
