Prime Minister Scott Morrison is stuck in Cairns and will postpone tomorrow’s National Cabinet meeting after his RAAF jet suffered technical difficulties.
The Prime Minister’s office confirmed this evening that the fortnightly meeting with the state Premiers had been delayed until next week due to technical difficulties which prevented Mr Morrison’s return to Sydney.
It is understood that the issues are to do with the RAAF plane, and the PM’s program had not been able to be adjusted around it.
The RAAF jet in question is said not to be the $250 million newest acquisition, the 100-seat jet dubbed ‘Shark One’ by the Prime Minister, but one of the smaller craft.
National Cabinet takes place over a secure line, for national security reasons, and one is not available in Cairns.
It is not known at this stage how long the delay will last.
