Today, almost 200,000 Queenslanders are out of work and we’re facing the biggest economic crisis in almost a century.
That’s why I believe this election is about who has a plan to get Queensland working again.
And it’s clear that Labor doesn’t.

In fact, the Labor government has even cancelled this year’s state budget. Labor has left Queensland with no plan, no budget and the worst economic record in Australia.
By contrast, the LNP’s economic plan for Queensland will create more than 150,000 jobs.
Our plan is based on building new roads, dams and bridges across Queensland. Because when Queensland is building, Queensland is working. At the centre of our plan are two huge infrastructure projects: the drought-busting New Bradfield Scheme and a four-lane Bruce Highway, from Curra to Cairns.
Construction of the dual-carriageway Bruce Highway alone will generate 100,000 jobs over the next 15 years. The New Bradfield Scheme will also create tens of thousands of new jobs, while supercharging the regions and generating enough renewable hydro-electricity for 800,000 homes.
In the southeast, the LNP will bust congestion and create jobs by building the second M1 and a $1bn program of road upgrades, including a new Centenary Motorway bridge.
We’ll fund these projects by stopping Labor’s waste and growing the economy, which will create more revenue for the infrastructure, hospitals and schools that we need.
There will be no new taxes, no asset sales and no forced redundancies. The LNP will lead Queensland out of recession by building the infrastructure Labor has failed to deliver. Our economic plan will build a better future. It will secure and grow jobs in manufacturing, agriculture, tourism and mining.
Only an LNP government will get Queensland working again.
