One woman has been killed and another has sustained serious injuries after a horrific single-vehicle crash in Storm King over the weekend.

A Toyota SUV was travelling westbound on Sommerville Lane at about 11.15pm on Friday when it veered from the road, striking a tree and rolling onto its side.

The Queensland Police Service stated five people were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

A 46-year-old Pine Mountain woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was sadly declared deceased at the scene.

A 38-year-old Deebing Heights woman was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition with “serious” head and hand injuries.

Paramedics treated the 38-year-old male driver and a 46-year-old male passenger for minor injuries at the scene, with both declining transport to hospital.

Another 38-year-old male passenger was not injured in the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit’s investigation into the incident is ongoing.
