SCORES of tourists have descended on Stanthorpe this morning to catch a glimpse of snow falling in Stanthorpe.
The first reports of snow started filtering through on social media at about 12:30am and people from as far as the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane and even Bundaberg said they'd driven through the night just to check it out.
The main street was flooded with cars and people stopping for snow fights all morning.
Bakeries and coffee shops were flat to the boards from about 4:30am, with scores of people lining up for coffees and warm treats.
Bundaberg local Brett Rieck scooped his family in to the car at 1:00am and drove more than five hours to be apart of a once in a generation event.
"I've never seen snow before," he said
The locals were just as excited to see the streets covered in white.
"We didn't get to see it in 1984," Stanthorpe's Cathy Birmingham said.
"This is just incredible."
