THE Rotary Stanthorpe- sponsored Men's Health Education Rural Vehicle completed a two-day stint in the main street last week.

Registered nurse Rob Woolley conducted 85 health assessments for locals.

The MHERV program provides an easy, convenient way for men, who don't usually visit their GP, to have a quick health check.

"There has been great support from locals, in fact the fifth largest group of checks so far this year - larger than many bigger communities,” he said.

"The value of this program is again proven with four locals found to have a serious health issue and were advised to see their GP as soon as possible.”

Rotary's Ann Richardson thanked the community for supporting the program.

"We particularly thank the wives, partners, mothers, daughters and colleagues who encouraged their menfolk to take the 10 minutes to get the check.”

They're now in discussions to see if MHERV can return next year.
