GLEN Aplin students have all been involved in many different activities throughout this term.

Year 6 students enjoyed their experience of the GRIP Leadership conference in Toowoomba on February 27.

Students were able to learn from leaders in the field and networked with Year 6 cohorts from other schools in our region.

The chess players sweated and strained across eight games in a regional competition in early March, coming home with some excellent results and many new strategies to try out after pitting their pawns against the best from Toowoomba.

Our softball and cricket teams have been enjoying inter-school sport and skills have improved immeasurably.

All students have been practising their running on a daily basis in preparation for our cross country on April 4.

Congratulations to Nick, Nate and Mitchell who have taken their chosen sport of rugby league to a higher level after being selected in the Granite Belt team.

The excessively dry weather has resulted in many of our school's deciduous trees shedding their leaves in an early autumn.

The students have had a wonderful time raking up and playing in the large quantities of leaves. Tidying up has never been such fun.

The National Day of Action for Bullying was observed at Glen Aplin School, with students dressing in orange and enjoying some dance music from the motivational band, Iron and Clay.

Cooperative games were played later in the afternoon fostering consideration and helpfulness between school mates.

Glen Aplin school will be hosting an Anzac Day commemoration service on Wednesday, April 24 at 10.30am.

All community members are welcome to attend.
