A Stanthorpe mother who took to Facebook to vent about her children’s father has been dragged in front of the magistrate for breaching a domestic violence order against her.

The Stanthorpe Magistrates Court heard the 29-year-old wrote three lengthy Facebook statuses detailing her frustration towards her ex-partner after a spat over Mother’s Day visits.

Police prosecutor Steve de Lissa said the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, posted the rant on May 7.

The post at 3.30pm read: “God some people really have f---ed up morals these day realling calling somoen selfish and useless and a bad mother cause they want to spend mothers day with their kids that they carried for 9 months birthed and raised all their lives all because they will miss a stupid kids birthday party get over self seriously groww up because sorry mate but ya kids are over yaking u in the age department”.

The posts garnered a number of likes and comments online.

“Because he didn’t get his way, he decided what we had arranged with the police wasn’t going to happen and he didn’t even show up on the Sunday,” she told the court.

The mother of three posted a follow-up status on May 9.

“11 and I havent had a phone call or got to see my boys!! U r a dead set piece of sh-- and deserve everything that’s coming ur way and still not a thing by 6 am the next morning,” it read.

Sergeant de Lissa said the final post on May 10 read: “Hmmm wonder who the bigmouthed snitch is on here how bout u give him this one to”, which was followed by an emoji smiley face gesturing the finger as an insult.

When interviewed by police on May 12, Sergeant de Lissa said the woman admitted to writing the posts but “didn’t think she was contravening her domestic violence order because she didn’t mention the man’s name”.

Magistrate Julian Noud said the woman let her frustration get the better of her.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to contravening a domestic violence order and was fined $250.

No conviction was recorded.
