A teenage girl involved in a serious crash on private property near the Queensland-NSW border is now in a stable condition while still recovering in hospital.
It is believed the girl and two teenage siblings were travelling in a four-wheel-drive on private property at North Talwood, delivering lunch to another family member when the vehicle lost control on soft ground.
The vehicle has reportedly swerved off the road and rolled over, pinning one girl by her legs.
Initial reports suggested all three passengers had been entrapped by the vehicle.
The girl was reportedly trapped for almost two hours, with a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman confirming crews were able to free her just after 1pm.
It is now believed the two other teenagers freed themselves.
Paramedics from Queensland and NSW worked together to treat the patients on scene.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a rescue helicopter had been called in to transport one of the patients.
The girl who was trapped under the vehicle was treated on scene for lower body and chest injuries before the Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas crew flew her to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
A second teenager was taken to Goondiwindi Hospital and the third teenager is said to have been uninjured.
A Queensland Children’s Hospital spokesman said on Thursday the teenager was now in a stable condition.
