A new luxury glamping retreat is set to open on the Granite Belt in just a few weeks, with the getaway spot featuring a range of innovative additions to blend camping with a high-end stay.
The Sorbello family will open their glamping experience named Serenità Stanthorpe in September, with the tourist spot situated on a cattle property at Severnlea overlooking the Severn River.
Jo Sorbello said it had been her father Sam Sorbello’s dream to build accommodation on his property ever since he first purchased the land more than 30 years ago.
“It’s a fusion getaway concept, we are fusing the serenity and simplicity of camping with the comfort of luxury accommodation,” she said.
Ms Sorbello said the two-person glamping tents, called Severn and Stannum, would feature a king bed, internal wood fireplace, outdoor fire pit and barbecue, along with a self-contained kitchen and ensuite.
She added that indoor features such as a heated towel rack, velvet couches, and kitchen appliances such as a coffee machine plus a spa bath built on the open deck would bring a “luxury element” to the tents.
Ms Sorbello said she was proud to highlight her Italian heritage through the decor, food, and concept of the experience.
“The name Serenità means comfort in Italian,” she said.
Ms Sorbello said she wants to supply only local produce and offerings to guests.
“We are developing a partnership with The Little Larder and Polished to provide an in-house chef, in tent massages and facials and cooked meals from local farms,” she said.
She said the Serenità team were also looking to incorporate antipasto boards and Italian food sharing options for guests.
