WITH thousands through the gate and a near-flawless first outing, the Sounds from the Vines' promoter is understandably chuffed.
It's been a long time in the making and a lot of effort and money poured into it and Rick Szabo said it was all worth it, despite his weariness in the aftermath.
"I've got muscles aching that I've never known. But we believe we've delivered a beautiful and successful event for the region. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” MrSzabo said.
Other than one or two sound and screen issues earlier in the day, MrSzabo said everything else appeared to run smoothly.
"They were issues that couldn't be avoided because some of the equipment wasn't brought in. The bars moved quick, the food was really special.”
He's promised to return bigger and better in 2020.
With the Apple and Grape Harvest Festival on next year, MrSzabo says they're just trying to isolate some dates that work for both events.
"We don't want to hinder them and them hinder us.
"We should be announcing something again by July/August this year. About the same sort of number of acts but maybe some bigger names.
"We certainly want to improve everything we did this year so it makes sense we improve every year on what we did before.
"Thank you to everyone in the town of Stanthorpe and thank you to everyone who attended. It's just been a great result for a great town,” he said.
