Police have seized drugs and guns in Stanthorpe police raids across the Granite Belt this week.
Stanthorpe police officer-in-charge Gerard Brady said a search warrant of a 40-year-old man’s Manning Street property at 9.40pm on Saturday uncovered drug paraphernalia.
Police investigations into the discovery of “a small amount of crystal substance” are continuing.
A search warrant of a Sugarloaf Road property on Tuesday located a double barrel shotgun and marijuana.
Sergeant Brady said a 35-year-old man was given a notice to appear in the Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on June 23 for possession of dangerous drugs and weapons.
Sergeant Brady said police have increased their border patrol efforts at Turners Creek and Ballandean in a bid to enforce Queensland border restrictions.
“We have intercepted a number of Victorian vehicles this week that have all been compliant so we haven’t had to turn any around,” he said.
With a noticeable increase of traffic, Sergeant Brady said people could expect to see more police on the roads.
