Mount Marlay Lookout

The lookout on Mount Marlay is the perfect vantage point to see the snowfall, but first visitors must take the scenic route and walk or mountain bike up the Summit Trails or take a steep and windy drive up.

As the highest elevation point in Stanthorpe, it gives visitors the opportunity for a panoramic view over the town about 100m below and is even an ideal place to take that perfect picture.

The lookout is a short drive from the shopping district located on LOT 2 Lock Street, Stanthorpe.

Quart Pot Creek

This is another prime location to watch the snowfall, with open area all around.

A tranquil and calm place where you can walk by the creekside with a warm coffee, tea or hot chocolate in hand and look out at the Big Thermometer for a live temperature reading.

Located at Leslie Parade just nearby the Stanthorpe Visitor Information Centre and just a few hundred metres from the town centre.

The park also has a playground nearby where the kids can run around on the brass-monkey themed equipment to watch the magic.

Eukey Road

For those not brave enough to venture out of their car and into the cold, visitors can drive or pullover somewhere safe on Eukey and Sugarloaf Roads.

Stanthorpe Visitor Information Centre volunteer Keith Merry said Eukey Road at Ballandean just past Storm King Dam is one of his picks for the perfect place to see the snow.

“If you’re coming here remember to bring plenty of warm clothes, keep rugged up and be happy,” he said.

To grab a bite to eat or sit down and enjoy a coffee with friends and family, local businesses said the shopping district in Stanthorpe is the place to be for the snowfall.

Located on Maryland and High streets there are an array of cafes to choose from to enjoy the winter wonderland in full flight.
