IF YOU were hoping to book a room in Stanthorpe this weekend you may be out of luck.

According to Booking.com, 93 per cent of rooms are booked out thanks to the Sounds from the Vines festival.

Granite Belt Wine and Tourism president Ann Bourke said with 4000 tickets sold there would be a great influx of people into town.

"I think it's perfect timing, the community really needs something positive and uplifting,” she said.

"They're using a lot of local products at the show, two local wineries have wine in there. I think it's really important for us to be concentrating on the positive things in the region to encourage visitation.”

Debbie Bradburn, the head of accommodation sub-committee, said everyone she had spoken to was fully booked.

She said the timing was great as March is normally quieter for tourism.
