A motorcyclist has suffered a number of serious injuries after falling from their bike while on a major highway in the state’s south.
Emergency services including ambulance, police and fire crews were called to the New England Highway at Severnlea, about 5km south of Stanthorpe, about 4.18pm on Tuesday after reports a motorcyclist had come from their bike.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics treated a male patient for head and chest injuries and was transported to Stanthorpe Hospital in a serious condition.
The LifeFlight rescue helicopter was called to transport the patient to the Princess Alexandra Hospital on Tuesday evening.
A Metro South Health spokeswoman said the man is in a critical but stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
