THE Crafty Artist Group meets every Wednesday at the gallery 9am - noon.

It is run by local artist Julie Brown who has used many different forms of art over the years.

Julie was one of the three artists who installed the Backpacker and the Italian Café murals in town.

She is determined that the group focuses on having fun with art.

Each week they learn fundamental art techniques which allow individuals to follow their own creativity.

The group consists of a diverse range of artistic abilities, ages and inclinations.

While this has some challenges it works very well with a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.

Julie and the Crafty Artists are working in water colours. It is easy to begin with but needs practice to perfect.

Crafty artists have been meeting for nearly a year and numbers keep building.

Julie wants people with aspirations of art but no practical experience to be able to come together and be confident in their creations.
