Qld families call for face-to-face meeting with Premier on road safety

Emergency services were called to an incident involving a vehicle towing a caravan that had reportedly crashed on the side of the Cunningham Highway at Woomera, east of Goondiwindi.

The incident is said to have occurred just after 11am, with initial reports suggesting the vehicle towing the caravan had sideswiped a truck, causing it to roll over onto the side of the highway.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said emergency services were alerted to the incident by a party reportedly involved in the incident, who advised one occupant from the vehicle towing the caravan had managed to free themselves.

A QFES spokesman said crews arrived about 11.40am with police and ambulance services already on scene who advised a rollover had occurred.

The circumstances around how the vehicle left the highway are unclear, with a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesmen confirming no persons were injured or required transport to hospital.

A Queensland Police Service spokesmen confirmed attending officers had advised at around 1pm the highway would shortly be reopened.
