After being closed for three years, Vincenzo’s will be back up and running in one months time with a few new additions set to bring to the iconic shop into current times.

Owners Shane and Anna Schnitzerling leased Vincenzo’s in mid-May and since then they’ve been busily revamping the shop in preparation for its grand reopening on July 1, with an Italian-inspired cafe, wine bar and deli welcomed upgrades.

“We wanted to keep some of the heritage and bones of the place while modernising it by painting and adding various aspects that invite customers in,” Mrs Schnitzerling said.

“We want to provide a relaxed atmosphere where people can come and try something new.”

The couple are introducing a barrel bar which will feature in the centre of the room nearby to the working fireplace.

Growing up in the Granite Belt, the Schnitzerling’s said the idea to settle back down in the region and bring back an iconic shop was a key motivation in their purchase.

“It’s so well-known in the community and we just want to see it thrive.”

Mrs Schnitzerling said the shop’s prime position is a great meeting point for both locals and tourists to enjoy the experience of the shop while trying the region’s produce.

“We will be selling cheeses, meats and wines from local producers like Ballandean Estate Wines, Hidden Creek and Jester Hill Wines,” she said.

Mrs Schnitzerling said the business would provide new employment opportunities for locals.

“We require 10 to 13 staff to work in store and will be offering apprenticeships, hospitality and retail traineeships, barista training for people with varying levels of experience,” she said.

Vincenzo’s will re-open on July 1 and will operate from Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7am – 4pm.
