An award-winning rock and roll singer will pay “homage” to his musical heroes in a special performance in Stanthorpe next month, breathing new life into the region’s arts scene.
Queensland musician Bradley McCaw will bring the intimate one-night concert to the Stanthorpe Little Theatre on August 6.
Having previously performed on international stages such as Broadway, Mr McCaw said he was inspired by the challenges of COVID to bring live music back to the regions.
“I’ve heard that during this tough period a lot of shows in the Granite Belt have been cancelled so I’m excited that I can be one of the people that can bring music to such a great community,” he said.
“Stanthorpe is always somewhere I have wanted to come and play, and it’s excellent being able to perform in regional communities.”
Mr McCaw has gone back to his musical roots for the one-night performance, playing classic songs in an intimate setting with just a piano and his co-stars.
“It will all be live, everything is real and not computer-generated, which gives music an energy and liveliness,” he said.
“We find that people of all ages are enjoying this retro music, as there is something about songwriting that is timeless.”
Mr McCaw said the music would speak to everyone as it would be a celebration of the ups and downs of life and relationships through the difficult times of COVID.
“We really tried to make the music fun and enthusiastic and something that spoke to the lives we live, and what a crazy time it has been for all of us” he said.
Bradley McCaw’s So Glad tour will be held at the Stanthorpe Little Theatre on August 6.
