It is set to be a wet weekend in Stanthorpe but that doesn’t mean you have to stay home and waste the best days of the week.

Run a marathon, see some vintage cars in action, enjoy some quality local drops while listening to a jazz band, or roll up your socks and get your dancing shoes on for a rock and roll workshop.

JAZZ, BLUES AND ROCK NIGHT

Add some traditional jazz music to an afternoon of food and wine, with Brisbane band Fine Vintage featuring Mick Power performing live.

Enjoy a three-course lunch including a glass of wine while listening to groovy jazz, blues and rock songs.

WHEN: Sunday from noon to 4pm

MARATHON

Put on your running shoes and head down for a morning of fun running in this pop up marathon that is part of the Stanthorpe parkrun.

There is an eight course track with runners able to run half or a full marathon.

All finishers will receive a pop up pin and be listed on the 100 club marathon listing.

WHEN: Saturday at 6.45am

WHERE: Gleeson Park, Stanthorpe

COST: $25 for a full marathon or $20 for a half marathon

ROCK ‘N’ ROLL WORKSHOP

Get ready to rock and roll at a workshop that will allow you develop your dancing skills.

It is an aerobic exercise and one of the best for sharpening your mind and body and improving memory.

From beginner to advanced level, all are invited to come along and learn to rock and roll.

Attendees will need to wear smooth-soled shoes, no runners or thongs.

WHEN: Sunday, 12.45pm – 4pm

WHERE: St Paul’s Anglican Church Hall at 2 Corundum Street, Stanthorpe

LONG GOURMET LUNCH

Delight in a five-course menu at the Epicurean Lunch prepared by an international chef and paired with five Heritage Estate Wines.

Each wine is matched to a course to bring out the best flavours in both the food and wine.

SUNSET PICNIC SESSION

Kick back and relax for an afternoon sitting on a bean bag enjoying some wine and food as you watch the sunset.

There is even a nice warm bonfire to sit around and enjoy the day with friends and family.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic of food, games or a portable barbecue.

Wine tasting available and wine and soft drinks are available to purchase on the day.

CAR SHOW

Ford T models come to town this weekend, where everyone can take a look at the vintage cars from the 1900s.

There will also be a coffee van and a sausage sizzle to enjoy while you watch.

TRAIN RIDE

If a leisurely day on a heritage steam train sounds like weekend bliss, then this is the tour for you.

See the sights and experience the magic of a steam engine as you make your way from Warwick to Toowoomba on the Downs Explorer.

WHERE: Warwick Railway Station

This beginners’ yoga session will allow you relieve all your stresses in a relaxed environment.

RIDE DAY

Motorsport enthusiasts and riders get excited now is your chance to test the limits of your away from speed cameras, trucks, other cars and pedestrians.

This circuit has a technical layout, heaps of corners and a long, fast straight you’re sure to enjoy.

So get off the streets and take your bike to the track with Champion’s Ride Days.

All you will need is a motorbike licence and either bring your own bite and leathers or hire some, so get racing.
