BRISBANE dining hot spot Howard Smith Wharves is almost back firing on all cylinders with popular Chinese restaurant Stanley to reopen this week.
After closing amid the coronavirus lockdowns, the modern Cantonese eatery revealed it will relaunch on Thursday, operating Thursday to Saturday nights and Friday for lunch.

It joins the precinct’s reopened Greek taverna Greca, Betty’s Burgers and Goodtimes Gelateria, plus Felons Brewing Co and Mr Percivals, which both kicked off last week after more than two months of being closed.
While Stanley will reignite the woks this week, it will not be business as usual. Instead the venue, headed by coveted former Los Angeles chef Louis Tikaram, will move to a banquet menu for $88 per person.
The set menu concept has proved popular with many Queensland restaurants, including the acclaimed E’cco Bistro, as they look to operate with maximum efficiency among strict rollback conditions.
“Words cannot describe how excited I am to be back in the kitchen cooking the food that
makes me so happy,” Mr Tikaram said.
Also soon to reopen at Howard Smith Wharves will be Japanese eatery Yoko, which is scheduled to start serving up to 50 diners on July 11.
Owner Jonathan Barthelmess said he plans to relaunch with an exciting new menu heroing sashimi and nigiri using top quality seafood that would normally be used only for the export market, but has been kept in Australia with coronavirus.
“There’s so much good produce out there and we may as well start using it,” said Mr Barthelmess.
