A FIRE at an iconic resort in the Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane, yesterday was not suspicious, investigators have ruled.
Emergency services were called to Spicers Hidden Vale resort at Grandchester about 4.40pm.
A fire in the kitchen caused the roof of the dining area and reception to collapse.
All staff and guests were evacuated with no injuries.
A fire investigation determined there were no suspicious circumstances, but the exact cause was still to be determined.
Machinery was brought in to remove the collapsed roof.
In a statement last night, the Spicers group confirmed the homestead and restaurant had been damaged, and said all guests and team members were evacuated.
Managing director David Assef said: “We will rebuild and will be back up and operating as soon as possible. Fortunately, we have a range of facilities onsite to cater for immediate future guests.”
Hidden Vale is one of eight resorts in the Spicers group owned by Flight Centre founder Graham Turner and his wife Jude.
