An elderly woman has been flown to hospital in serious condition after her car ran off the road and flipped ‘end over end’ into a ditch.

An elderly woman has been flown to hospital after losing control of her car and plunging down a three metre ditch off the Wide Bay Highway.
The woman, aged in her 70s, was reportedly rounding a bend when her car ran off the road and flipped “end over end” into the ditch, a RACQ Lifeflight spokeswoman reported.
The woman, aged in her 70s, was driving directly behind her husband, who was travelling in a separate vehicle, on their way to a grandchild’s graduation event.
Emergency services responded to the incident in Kilkivan, near Fraser Street, just before 8.30am on Saturday.
A QAS spokeswoman said the woman suffered multiple injuries to her head and chest.
She was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
