A top Queensland property agent has been remembered and honoured for his 11 years at Raine and Horne in the South Burnett.

Rodney Brett Dionysius (Bones) was an award-winning real estate sales agent and a respected and loved Kingaroy resident, who died in February 2023 from complications from Covid.

He was aged just 58, when he caught Covid, his family said. His cystic fibrosis and double lung transplant 20 years earlier did not endure the infection.

“He was a very selfless person who always put others ahead of himself. I never heard him complain. A loving husband and father,” his wife Susan Dionysius said.

After 12 years working at the post office in Kingaroy, Mr Dionysius moved into real estate sales and progressed into an award-winning agent.

“He found a lot of satisfaction helping people find a place to call home,” Mrs Dionysius, said.

“Our home was pretty important to us and to a lot of people finding a home is not just about finding a house, it’s a home,” she said.

Raine and Horne Kingaroy principal and property manager Jackie Allery said Mr Dionysius sold countless homes, helped match homes to first-time home buyers and investors, and assisted with the downsizing journey of people moving from their family homes into smaller properties.

“We will miss Rod’s stories, his amazing cakes, his Broncos stories of woe, and most of all – the generous and kind person that was Rod. We will miss him more than words can express,” she said.

He was number one in residential sales for Queensland and Northern NSW for the past four years (2019-2022) and number two nationally for the past two.

“We miss you Rod. #1,” said the Raine and Horne Kingaroy office in a facebook post.

Underneath the post 100 comments of tribute were left.

“RIP Rod. From one CF to another, you're a star! You never judged me and always have my respect whether it was in sales or selling to me,” said Laura Lofts.

“I will miss our chats in the street. He was always interested in what was happening on the farm and asking about family. Always left the conversation laughing,” said Tom Wilson.

“Rod was such a gentlemen. I still smile at his Ducati story when the police officer who pulled him up asked why he was speeding,” wrote Debbie Dennien.
