IT HAS been a horror season on South Burnett roads, with three people killed over the Christmas and new year period.

A woman died in the early hours of Christmas Day in an alleged hit-and-run on the New England Highway near Yarraman.

A man is set to face court over the incident.

On January 2 a man and a seven-year-old were killed after their car and a truck collided on the Bunya Highway, near Murgon.

Several other road traffic crashes required people to be taken to hospital.

A woman was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with leg injuries following a crash on December 28 on Kingaroy Barkers Creek Rd at 8.23am.

A man was flown to Brisbane following a crash on the D'Aguilar Highway near Blackbutt on December 29.

The crash closed the highway in both directions.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said a car crashed into a tree, with four people inside.

Three were taken to Kingaroy Hospital and one was flown to hospital.

A person was also taken to Kingaroy Hospital on Friday, December 29, following a motorbike crash.

QAS said the adult suffered collarbone injuries in the accident, which occurred on Manar Rd, Boondooma, at 10.20am.

A person was also taken to hospital following a car roll-over in south-east Nanango on December 29.

The incident occurred on the corner of Old Esk North and Diggins Rds at 1.30pm. One patient was treated for a hand injury and ttaken to Nanango Hospital.

Two cars collided on the corner of Henry and Drayton streets in Nanango on Friday, January 5, at 7.45am.

Two patients were assessed by the QAS following the crash.

One was taken to Nanango Hospital for treatment after the accident.
