Here’s your guide to making the most of this weekend, with plenty of events across the region:
Queensland Heritage Rally
The Kingaroy and District Vintage Machinery Club will host the biennial Queensland Heritage Rally over three days this weekend.
There will be hundreds of vintage tractors, stationary engines, rotary hoes, trucks, cars and wagons on display coming from all over the state.
Social media and website organiser Phil Pidgeon said there would be activities kids would be excited to see as part of the day.
Gates open at 2 Geoff Raph Drive, Kingaroy 6am each day.
Swimming pools to reopen for summer season
The public pools in Blackbutt, Kingaroy, Wondai and Murgon are reopening for the summer season on Saturday.
There is a great range of fitness classes and recreational activities available for people of all ages.
The pools are accessible from 10am to 5pm on weekends.
Gamez Knight first birthday party
The Gamez Knight game store will host a day of celebration for its first birthday on Saturday.
Owner Alex Niven said there would be free access to the board game library for the day, with more than 250 titles to choose from.
“There will be free paint-and-take miniature painting so you can try your hand at painting minis,” he said.
“On top of all that we will have cracking sales, free loot bags and cupcakes, while stocks last.”
The fun will run from 9.30am – 5pm at 119 Youngman St, Kingaroy.
Kingaroy RSL raffle and country/rock dance evening
Kingaroy RSL will hold its weekly raffle to raise money for veterans at 10am Saturday. Prizes include club vouchers, meat trays, and fruit and vegetable platters.
Later that night, guests are urged to get their dancing shoes on as singer Vanessa Sanger performs classic country and rock classics from 7pm until 10pm.
Year-long access to the Kingaroy RSL is $5.
Kingaroy Friendship Markets
On the third Saturday of every month you can be sure to pick up a bargain at the Kingaroy Friendship Markets.
A wide variety of arts, crafts, garden items and fruit are available.
The markets run from 7am until noon at the Kingaroy Showgrounds.
Kingaroy Observatory show
From 7pm-9pm on Sunday, the Kingaroy Observatory will host a hands-on Stars and Planets session, giving a look into the cosmos, galaxies and universe.
Owner James Barclay said visitors would see galaxies through telescopes with a professional astronomer.
The interactive experience starts at 7pm at 5 Geoff Raph Dr, Taabinga.
Tickets are available here and are $35 for adults, $25 for pensioners and $15 for school students.
