Kingaroy has a 90 per cent chance of rainfall both today and tomorrow, with 10-30mm expected today and 15-25mm on Friday.
While storms are already brewing on the Western Downs and heading east, Mr Claassen said Friday would see the most storm activity in the Burnett.
“(We’re) more likely to see severe storms tomorrow … So it’s really important that people keep an eye on warnings we may issue,” he said.
But the weekend is shaping up to be a much sunny two days, with clear skies and temperatures in the mid-to-high 20s.
