The Super Sedan Series in Kingaroy was a non-stop race and gave racers a run in preparation for the upcoming Queensland and Australia titles.

New South Wales Champion Darren Kane won round 12 of the Brims Concrete Super Sedan Series in Kingaroy without a single stoppage.

Brant Chandler won the Wingless Sprint feature race.

Brothers Tim and Matty Smith also did well at the Kingaroy Speedway meet.

Tim Smith won the Modified Sedan feature race and Matty Smith won the featured race.

Kingaroy Speedway Treasurer Tanya Barron said round 12 of the V8 Super Sedans was low key community event.

"We've got 19 cars nominated and 16 have shown up. So that makes for a pretty good field,” Barron said.

"They have a series all year round and go to all different tracks. Kingaroy is just one of these.”

Barron said the club was lucky enough to have a few local drivers racing.

"This meet will actually be their last chance to race before the Queensland title that's coming up,” Barron said.

"The Australian title in Maryborough is also pretty soon.

"It really is a nice quiet show that gives our racers a chance to have a run and prepare for the QLD and Australian title meets.”

Most racers arrived around 2pm on Saturday 17 March.

"Racers will get here about three hours before their race. They have to do a pre race check and make sure everything is safe and all right to go,” Barron said.

"5pm is wheel packing and hot laps to start the meet off.”

Barron has been either Secretary or Treasurer of the Kingaroy Speedway for the last 12 years.

"Years and years and years ago I raced in a little class called pocket rockets. It was just a club run class but it was really fun and got me involved,” Barron said.

Barron is passionate about racing and the Kingaroy club.

"We've got a very hard working crew of volunteers. Without them it wouldn't run,” Barron said.

"We're all very passionate about how it goes and we all want it to be around for many years to come. Next season is actually our 50th year.

"We all put a lot of hours into the place to make it what it is. For a little country club we don't do too bad.”

Organising and attending speedway meets is a big part of Barron's life.

"We're a really friendly club too. We make it very friendly for the competitors,” Barron said.

"If we don't have the competitors then we don't have a speedway meet. So it's important they feel welcomed and at home.

"Everyone is very social and we're all friends. We spend so much time racing and organising that most of their friends are in speedway.”

Barron said the Kingaroy speedway club is her second family.
