KINGAROY'S most expensive house has a new owner.
The home, at 18 Freeman Court, was under contract in mid-December, and it officially sold on January 11, 2019.
Former owner Michael Magnussen said the sale, which he handled himself, showed how buoyant the market was in Kingaroy.
"It's a good thing for the district," he said.
"You get all those people saying big homes never sell, and it sold within four months of being on the market."
Mr Magnussen said a partner in a large local business bought the home for an undisclosed amount.
"For a local business owner to buy the home, they're reinforcing their value in the town," he said.
"Kingaroy's real estate is booming again.
"And that's the high-end of the market, which everybody says never sells, but it has."
Mr Magnussen said the sale of his home, which he and his wife designed and built in 1995, showed confidence in the region.
"They all said I'd never sell it when I built it, but it sold quicker than a lot of mid-range homes.
"There's a boom at the high-end where everyone else in other centres has trouble selling," he said.
"It's just put so much confidence in the town's market."
The house was listed in August for $875,000, and was the most expensive house on the market at the time.
Situated in a quiet, friendly estate and built over two beautifully landscaped blocks (2398sqm), the property is jut 2km from the centre of Kingaroy.
