A Nanango man who allegedly attacked his brother and threatened him with a knife in a shocking dispute had his case progressed in court.

Police will allege William Roy Parker, 56, threatened his brother with a knife and punched him in the face during the violent domestic attack last December.

During his bail application on December 4, 2021, police prosecutor Pepe Gangemi told the Kingaroy Magistrates Court Mr Parker made a “significant attempt” at injuring his brother.

Police were called to the South Nanango property at 8.45pm where they arrested Mr Parker and charged him with an act intended to maim, disfigure or disable, as well as making threats.

The matter was adjourned until March 3 for a committal mention.

Mr Parker’s matter will need to be finalised in the District Court.

The 56-year-old was not present at his most recent mention in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Thursday, with lawyer Mandy Reid appearing on his behalf.

Mr Parker has been in custody for the charge since before Christmas, when he was denied bail by magistrate Andrew Sinclair.
