A man accused of submitting a false insurance claim after his car was reportedly stolen and set alight was committed to Kingaroy District Court on charges of arson and fraud.
Police will allege Robert Jon Holland, 41, torched his own car on November 30, 2019.
The Yarraman man was also charged with fraud, with it further alleged he dishonestly gained a benefit for himself by filing an insurance claim on the burnt out car.
“It seems to me that the allegations are that you arranged for your car to be stolen and burned, and made a false insurance claim,” Magistrate Andrew Sinclair said.
Mr Sinclair deemed there was sufficient evidence to place Holland on trial and his matter will be heard in an upcoming sitting of the Kingaroy District Court.
It was ordered Holland remain on bail until his trial.
