Police have charged a 19-year-old man after thieves used a stolen car to smash their way into a Kingaroy business and steal a number of clothing items.

A teenager has been charged after thieves used a stolen car to smash their way into an Alford Street business and steal a number of clothing items.

At 2am on Sunday morning, July 4, two offenders broke into SPORTFIRST using a white ford falcon stolen from a Wondai residence the night before, a Queensland Police spokesman said.

The offenders have stolen clothing items before taking off in the vehicle.

A 19-year-old man was picked up by police at midday and charged with multiple unlawful use and break in offences.

The police are still searching for the second offender.

Taking to Facebook, the family-owned business said “devastated is an understatement”.

As a result of the ram-raid, the store will be closed on Monday July 5 to assess damage.
