A man has been tasered by police and charged following an afternoon incident allegedly involving a replica firearm in a South Burnett town.

A Kingaroy man has been tasered by police and charged after an incident allegedly involving a replica firearm in the South Burnett town on Wednesday.

Police said officers were called to a Hayly St home, not far from the city centre, shortly before 5pm on Wednesday to reports of a man armed with with a gun.

A 30-year-old man, Mitchell John Trimble, was located by officers who were forced to taser him during the arrest.

Police said a replica firearm was found at the scene.

Mr Trimble was initially charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, wilful damage, threatening violence, wilful damage police property, assaulting or obstructing police, and public nuisance.

New charges of dangerous conduct with a weapon and unlawful use of motor vehicle were laid after further investigations.

Mr Trimble appeared briefly at Kingaroy Magistrates Court Thursday, where his matter was adjourned until Friday, December 6.

He made no application for bail and was remanded in custody.
