Michelle Julie Davies: Nanango nurse, 41, sentenced for attack on former friend

A well-respected nurse found herself before the courts after a heated argument with a former friend ended in blows on a Nanango street over ‘offensive’ comments. Full details:

Nasty gossip was blamed for a wild confrontation between a well-respected nurse and her former friend that turned violent and ended in a court date.

Michelle Julie Davies, 41, drove to a former friend’s house on the evening of September 12, 2021, to confront the other woman over rumours circulating in the community.

Davies arrived at the Gibb St property with her teenage son in tow and a tense confrontation erupted.

The nurse was told to leave and started to leave and head back to her car.

But the Kingaroy Magistrates Court was told further “offensive and insulting” comments directed at her and her son reignited tensions and Davies returned and a scuffle broke out between the two women.

The victim suffered scratches and her dress was torn.

Davies went to the Nanango Police Station, telling officers she hadn’t intended to assault the woman when she arrived at the home.

Magistrate Andrew Sinclair described the incident as “out of character”, noting the 41-year-old mother of two had no interactions with the law prior to the offence.

Davies pleaded guilty to common assault and unlawful entry.

She was placed on a good behaviour bond for six months and no conviction was recorded.
