Massive fine for man travelling 47km/h over speed limit

Alleged high-end speeding, drug driving, unlicensed driving; ten charged in huge week of road crime.

EIGHT drivers will front the court and two were heavily fined in huge week of traffic crime for Kingaroy police.

 

On Wednesday morning, a Kingaroy man was charged after police allegedly caught him driving without a license on Fisher Street.

The 26-year-old was allegedly known to police to be disqualified from driving.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court charged with driving while disqualified and driving an unroadworthy vehicle.

Police charged a Kingaroy man on Thursday (July 23) after he allegedly returned a positive sample to a roadside breath test on Markwell Street.

The 51-year-old will face Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 29 charged with driving with a relevant drug present.

Just 20 minutes later, police stopped a Booie woman on Markwell Street.

The 24-year-old allegedly provided a positive sample to a roadside breath test.

She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 29 for driving with a relevant drug present.

At 10.45am on Thursday, a Greenview woman was stopped by police on Markwell Street.

The 30-year-old woman allegedly provided a positive sample to a roadside breath test.

She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 21 for driving with a relevant drug present

On Thursday afternoon, at 1pm, police pulled over a Brogooda woman on Champneys Road.

The 43-year-old driver was allegedly found to be unlicensed.

The woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 17 for driving while unlicensed.

Her vehicle was also immobilised for seven days.

Police completed their fifth and final charge on Thursday, following a two vehicle crash on the D'Aguilar Highway at 6.15pm.

A Mazda utility, driven by a 59-year-old Kingaroy man, was heading north when a Holden sedan turned in front of him into the rest area.

The 24-year-old Blackbutt woman was issued a $400 infringement notice for failing to give way and had three demerit points deducted.

The man was transported to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries.

On Friday night (July 24), police intercepted a man driving a Triton utility on Duke Street at 11.35pm.

The Memerambi man allegedly provided a positive sample to a roadside breath test (0.052 per cent BAC).

The 35-year-old will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 17 for driving while over the general alcohol limit, unlicensed driving and exceeding the passenger capacity for his vehicle.

A Thabeban man received a hefty $1245 fine after police caught him travelling 47km/h over the speed limit on Saturday afternoon (July 25).

The 22-year-old was intercepted by police on D'Aguilar Highway, travelling 147km/h in a 100km/h zone at 12.15pm.

He was also disqualified from driving for six months and eight demerit points have been deducted.

A Kingaroy woman will appear in court after police allegedly found her to be driving an unregistered vehicle on Alexander Street Sunday morning (July 26).

The 38-year-old will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 31 for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

Her vehicle was also immobilised for seven days.

A 25-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with allegedly driving while unlicensed on Sunday night, after police intercepted his vehicle on Redmond's Road.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court charged with driving while unlicensed.
