Nanango man dies after car crash at Booie, in the South Burnett

Police have released new details about the events leading up to the death of a man on a private property just outside of Kingaroy in the middle of the night on Thursday.

New details have emerged in the shock death of a young man near Kingaroy on Thursday night, with police saying the 21-year-old hit a fence pole while leaving the rural property.

Emergency crews were called to the private private property at Booie off Kingaroy Barkers Creek Rd shortly before midnight Thursday.

In a media release on Friday, police said the Nanango man had arrived at the property about 11.30pm.

When leaving, he struck a fence pole, suffering critical injuries and being left trapped in his car.

Emergency services called to the property at 11.50pm found the man unconscious.

First responders performed CPR and he was taken to Kingaroy Hospital but later died.

Police said the 21-year-old was not known to the property’s owners.

Investigations are ongoing and police are urging anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
