Drug smugglers fooled by police deception

A baby-faced Kingaroy teen facing more than 100 serious charges relating to supplying drugs, including charges of supplying teens with dangerous drugs, has had his matter returned to court.

Keaton Griffith Coleman, 19, appeared in Kingaroy Magistrates Court charged with 92 counts of supplying dangerous drugs.

Coleman, who is understood to have graduated high school just last year, is also facing three charges of aggravated supplying dangerous drugs to a minor under 16, six counts of aggravated supplying dangerous drugs to a minor 16 or more, and a charge of trafficking.

Defence lawyer Jay Rose requested the matter be adjourned until December.

“The brief (of evidence) was almost two weeks late. It was due on the first of November and we got it last Thursday (November 11),” Ms Rose said.

“It’s 650 pages plus an addendum brief.”

Coleman’s co-accused Jennifer Ann Mary Murchie also appeared in court charged with supplying and trafficking dangerous drugs, permitting use of place and unrelated charges.

Her lawyer Mark Werner also requested an adjournment due to the amount of evidence provided.

Both cases were adjourned to December 13 for mention.
