Jasmine Moore faces court for entering into her mums house for food without permission

A Kingaroy woman has fronted court after letting herself into her mum’s house after being told she was “no longer welcome back”, leaving behind a shocking trail of destruction.

A Kingaroy woman has appeared in court after she broke into her own mother’s home to hunt for food after finding herself homeless.

Jasmine Moore had no fixed address when she entered her mother’s Kingaroy home on October 10, taking food and leaving the home in disarray.

The excursion led to Moore facing court charged with entering a dwelling without the consent of the owner.

She pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Kingaroy Magistrates Court heard Moore was “no longer welcome back” at the house, but on the day in question she entered the home through a sliding back door.

The 32-year-old then proceeded to take food and leave clothes “strewn throughout” the home, alongside half-eaten food and rubbish.

Lawyer Jay Rose told the court his client had used meth since she was 27 and that she was “remorseful for the state that the home was left in”.

Ms Rose also said Moore suffered from panic disorder and PTSD and was engaged with her GP for treatment.

Acting magistrate John Milburn took into account her early plea and noted she had been charged under the Invasion of Privacy Act and not the Queensland Criminal Code.

Moore was placed on a six-month good behaviour bond and no conviction was recorded.
