A former Murgon woman has been charged in relation to a horror crash that killed her 22-year-old passenger and injured another in Cushnie earlier this year.
Police will allege the 24-year-old driver was travelling southbound along Chinchilla Wondai Road on January 15 when she failed to give way to a dual cab at the Cushnie road intersection, causing the other car to slam into the passenger’s side of her hatchback at high speed.
The front passenger of the hatchback, a 22-year-old Murgon woman, died at the scene.
The driver of the hatchback and another passenger, a 22-year-old Surfers Paradise man, were treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
The soul occupant of the dual cab, a 24-year-old Nikenbah woman, was taken Kingaroy Hospital for observation.
The driver of the hatchback, who now lives in Springfield, was charged on Friday with two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm.
She is due to front Murgon Magistrates Court on November 30.
