Two Cherbourg women facing child sex charges over “interacting inappropriately” with a 14-year-old boy have had their cases returned to court.
The pair, aged 32 and 21, had their cases mentioned in Murgon Magistrates Court this week and are each charged with one count of carnal knowledge of a child and using a carriage service to procure persons under 16.
The 21-year-old woman is also charged with indecent treatment of a child.
Police will allege that between March and May last year, the women repeatedly engaged with the 14-year-old boy via phone before abusing him in person in Cherbourg.
The two women, who cannot yet be named for legal reasons, were charged in August at the end of the Murgon Child Protection Investigation Unit’s Operation Puma.
Both appeared in Murgon Magistrates Court this week.
The 32-year-old had her case adjourned to February 22 and the 21-year-old is next due to appear in the Murgon court on February 15.
A third co-accused woman faced a committal hearing in November last year on three charges each of carnal knowledge of a child and using a carriage service to procure a child under 16, and one of indecent treatment of a child under 16.
The 28-year-old was committed to trial in a 2022 sittings of the Kingaroy District Court.
