11 suspects facing 32 drug, weapons charges following co-ordinated police operation in South Burnett

South Burnett police have charged 11 people with more than 30 offences following a co-ordinated police operation targeting drug possession and supply in the region.

Several people from the Moore, Benarkin and Blackbutt North areas will stand before a magistrate in the coming months following a co-ordinated police response designed to target drug supply and possession in the South Burnett region.

Last Monday morning (May 10), police from the Blackbutt, Moore and Kilcoy departments executed search warrants across the region as part of Operation Tango Moore 2.

According to Moore Police officer-in-charge Senior Constable Sam Wellen, three search warrants were conducted in Blackbutt and two in Moore, resulting in 11 people hit with 32 charges so far.

The charges relate to the supply and possession of cannabis and methamphetamine in the region, as well as one charge for possessing a rifle.

The offenders will face Nanango and Toogoolawah courts in coming months.
