A man has been flown to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a horse on his North Burnett property, where he was left unconscious and alone for several hours.

It is believed the man hit his head when he fell from his horse on his Old Cooranga property, near Gayndah, on Thursday afternoon.

Family members reportedly located the unconscious man hours after the incident, immediately calling for emergency assistance.

A LifeFlight spokeswoman said paramedics and fire crews were called to the scene, but eventually made the decision to fly the man in his 60s to hospital due to difficult terrain.

The still-unconscious man was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious injuries but in a stable condition.
