Murgon hit with a crime wave of break-ins and car thefts
Homes and cars in one South Burnett town have been targeted by intruders this week with a common theme sparking a warning from police.

In four days the South Burnett town of Murgon has been hit by multiple break-ins and car thefts.
According to police, intruders targeted a home on Tuesday, November 7 around 10.30pm in Stephens St, West Murgon.
There, they opened windows to get inside but nothing was taken.
On the same night, between 9:30pm and 1:30am, offenders broke into a property on Taylor Street and stole a set of car keys belonging to a white Hyundai i30 which was parked at the address.
The car was stolen and then recovered the next day, however it had significant damage.
On Wednesday night, between 11pm and 1.25am, another home was broken into on Rewald Street.
Intruders went through an open window and stole keys and jewellery before leaving.
It is alleged they then stole a red Ford Falcon from the address which was later found burnt out on Fisher Street.
On Thursday, shortly after midnight, a business on the Bunya Highway was broken into and chocolate, drinks and an empty cash register taken.
On Friday, around 1.35am, a white 2019 Toyota C-HR with the registration 958YVW, was stolen from an address on Gore Street.
The victim’s handbag containing the car keys had been left in the vehicle.
“Keys should not be left in plain sight and in no circumstances should they be left within vehicles,” a police statement read
Police have asked residents to secure their homes, and lock windows and doors.
It is unknown if any of the alleged break ins and car thefts are related.
