FOR 507 days, Labrador New Zealand Huntaway Mia spent her life in the care of the RSPCA.

But on Monday Mia found her forever home.

Kingaroy RSPCA manager Sally Charles said she came into Dakabin RSPCA in June last year as a stray and was transferred to Wacol and then to Kingaroy.

"We took her in, in April this year," Mrs Charles said.

"She became apart of the furniture, we've had a few long term ones.

"Mia came to us, she wasn't coping at Wacol.

"It's a massive facility, it's a little bit more relaxed here, got yards and things like that.

"Her and Spud one of the other long term dogs used to hang out in the yard, she wasn't coping in her kennel.

"And people don't want to adopt a dog that looks like that."

Mrs Charles said Mia's new owners had previously adopted a German Shepard from Kingaroy RSPCA and saw Mia on Facebook.

"They were looking for a friend and they instantly fell in love with her," she said.

"She looked pretty happy in her photo.

"She is such a sweet awesome girl, for her to finally find a home after being in care half her life the poor thing.

It was a a bit interesting she's quite a dominate dog but they were sleeping together last night and the best of mates today."

Kingaroy RSPCA has also started a grooming service for pet pooches, phone 41625501 to book .

Until Sunday dogs are available for adoption for $199 and cats for $99.

All pets come, desexed, up to date with vaccinations and micro chipped.

Kingaroy RSPCA is open seven days a week from 10am to 4pm.
