More than 60 South Burnett community members and organisations have been nominated across 17 categories for the 2024 South Burnett Regional Council Australia Day Awards. Read the full list here: 

Jean-Luc Barnett, Courtney Sippel, Jacqui Trace and Myolene Voller have all been nominated for the South Burnett Regional Council Australia Day Awards.

More than 60 South Burnett community members and organisations have been nominated across 17 categories for the 2024 South Burnett Regional Council Australia Day Awards.

The winners of these awards will be announced at a ceremony on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 12-3pm at the Kumbia Hall at 29-31 Bunya Highway.

Acting Mayor Gavin Jones said volunteers were an integral part of the community.

“Volunteers are so vital to community activities and community spirit so it’s a great opportunity for South Burnett Regional council to acknowledge the wonderful work and wonderful people we have in our region,” Mr Jones said.

“The South Burnett Regional Council can’t afford to do everything and without volunteers a lot of things wouldn’t happen,” he said.

Five days after celebrating the Australia Day nominees and winners, 26 people will be sworn in as Australian citizens on Australia Day.

The citizenship ceremony will be held at the Kingaroy Scouts Hall on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 9am.
