A brick home has been destroyed and a woman hospitalised in a fire that broke out in the rental property on Bullcamp Road in East Nanango on Thursday morning, July 18.
Five fire fighting crews were dispatched to the remote location in the early hours of Thursday morning, and the fire had been contained before 5am.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said the first team arrived at the scene at 3.55am where they found the house “well involved” in flames.
The QFES spokeswoman said all residents were accounted for, and the fire was contained by about 4.45am.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said a woman in her 30s was transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition, suffering from a cut to her foot sustained during the incident.
Later in the morning, a fire investigator arrived at the scene, along with police as fire crews were still “damping down” hot spots to prevent any flare-ups.
A police officer confirmed the house was a rental property, and said it was upsetting as it would add to the current rental shortage in the region.
