WITH precautionary measures for coronavirus (COVID-19) being ramped up across the nation, a number of South Burnett events have been impacted by health concerns.
On the weekend major events across the region including the Kingaroy Speedway and Camp Oven Under the Stars didn't run due to precautionary measures.
The government's ban on gatherings of 500 people or more has taken effect as of Monday, March 16, which has taken the decision out of the hands of event organisers.
A ban of indoor events of 100 people of more has caused further events to be cancelled and postponed.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced new restrictions on Friday, March 20.
In addition to banning gatherings of 100 people or more, he said venues will now be limited to four square metres provided per person in an enclosed space in a room.
He stressed that the order applied to non-essential gatherings only - so schools, universities, churches and parliament were exempt.
