PATTI Schultz has sent through an old family photo with hopes of identifying the man in the middle and learning more about her family.

Her father gave her the photo years ago.

"The younger person in front of the buggy is my father Ron Myers,” she said.

"I am pretty sure the man on the horse is my grandfather Albert Myers.

"It is the older looking man sitting near my dad that I am not sure about.”

Ms Schultz thinks he may be Edwin Starkey Myers (her great-grandfather).

"I am doing my family tree and do not know too much,” Ms Schultz said.

"What I do know about Edwin Starkey Myers is that he owned a general store in Taabinga sometime in late 1800s to early 1920s to 1930s.

"I believe a bank now stands on the land.

"Edwin Starkey Myers married Isabella Edwards (Latcham) in 1895 in Nanango and they had the one son, Albert Myers.

"I have been told that Isabella died very young and Edwin could not manage to look after Albert.”

Ms Schultz was told Mrs Geritz from across the road looked after Albert after his mother's death.

"Edwin Starkey Myers came out to Australia around 1880 with a Mr Horne. I think they were involved with the Taabinga school. Mr Horne may have been the head teacher back then and Mr Myers was secretary or treasurer,” Ms Schultz said.

Ms Schultz was hoping someone in the South Burnett may recognise the man in the photo or know of any of the families she has mentioned.
