A man has tragically died after the car he was driving slammed into a tree at Coolabunia, near Kingaroy.

The 36-year-old man was driving north along Coolabunia Road when his 2007 silver Hyundai Elantra left the road and collided with a tree on Friday afternoon, the Queensland Police Service reported.

He died at the scenes.

About 5.30pm another driver came across the crash and raised the alarm.

South Burnett Forensic Crash Investigators will prepare a report for the coroner and are appealing for witnesses, particularly those with dashcam footage capturing the moments leading up to and including the crash, to come forward.
